  • The Earth Cycler easily handles up to 5,000kg of food waste per month.
  • This is a flow through system with a very small footprint (fits into a car parking space).
  • Energy consumption is very low at 34kWh per month.
  • The Earth Cycler measures inputs and output weights as well as compost temperature.
  • All functions are controlled through a touch pad.
  • There are three levels of security - operator, manager and administrator - to ensure that the operations and auto functions are not tampered with.

The heron IVC can process - depending on the size of the unit - up to 45,000kg of food waste per month.
We have three models.
* 12 m3 unit to process up to 1,000kg per day including carbon component (wood chips, saw dust, waste cardboard/paper).
* 18 m3 unit to process up to 1,500kg per day including carbon component (wood chips, saw dust, waste cardboard/paper).
* 24 m3 unit to process up to 2,000kg per day including carbon component (wood chips, saw dust, waste cardboard/paper).
These units can be adapted to fit into your waste area and can replace compactors.

Life & Earth develops tailored composting recipes to ensure optimum composting for the matrix being composted. The key is to ensure the correct carbon:nitrogen ratio and also moisture content (the matrix should not be too wet). Getting the recipe right ensures:

  • optimum temperatures to eliminate any pathogens (should they exit in the pre-composted waste stream).
  • faster composting times in order to balance the ratio between waste input and compost output.
  • the matrix does not contribute to fly infestation through destroying fly eggs and larvae which could enter composting machinery through the waste stream prior to composting.
In developing compost recipes Earth Probiotic focusses on existing waste streams which can be added to the composting machines. For example, contaminated cardboard is readily available and has very low recyclable value. Other sources include shredded garden (green) waste and wood chips (even from damaged pallets).
